Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Hotel Jagdish Residency collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only — https://hoteljagdishresidencykatra.in.
Who we are
Hotel Jagdish Residency is a hotel in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, and is the business responsible for the personal information described here.
- Address: Kashmir Road, Katra, Jammu & Kashmir 182301
- Email: bookjagdishresidency@gmail.com
- Phone: +91 99060 39433
What we collect
Information you give us when you book
To hold a room we ask for:
- Your name
- Your mobile number
- Your email address (optional)
- Your city (optional)
- Your dates, room type, number of rooms, number of adults and children, and meal plan
- Any special request you choose to type in (optional)
Only your name and mobile number are required. Everything else you can leave blank and still complete a booking.
Photo ID at check-in
Hotels in India are required by law to verify a government photo ID for every adult guest. That check happens at the hotel reception when you arrive, not on this website — this site never asks you to upload or type an ID number, and we do not accept identity documents by email or WhatsApp.
Payment information
Online payments are handled by Razorpay, a payment gateway authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. Your card number, UPI PIN, CVV, net-banking password and any one-time password are entered on Razorpay's own secure checkout. They never reach our website and we never see or store them.
What we do receive back from Razorpay and keep is limited to:
- The transaction and order reference numbers
- The amount paid and the currency
- Whether the payment succeeded or failed, and the reason if it failed
- The method used — for example "UPI" or "card" — but not the underlying details
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our server and the services listed below record technical information when you visit: your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you opened, and the time of your visit. This is ordinary web traffic data and is not used to identify you personally.
Why we use it
- To create, confirm and manage your booking
- To send you your booking confirmation and contact you about your stay
- To arrange your free pickup and drop when you tell us your arrival time
- To take payment and issue receipts
- To keep the accounting and tax records that Indian law requires us to keep
- To answer your questions and handle complaints or cancellations
- To keep the site working, prevent fraudulent bookings, and measure whether our advertising is working
We use your information for these purposes and no others. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your consent
When you submit a booking or an enquiry on this site, you are giving us your consent to use the details you entered for the purposes listed above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us — see Your rights below. If you withdraw consent while a booking is still in progress, we may not be able to hold the room, and we may still need to keep records of a completed stay to meet our legal obligations.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses two kinds of cookies.
Essential cookies
A session cookie and a security token cookie are set so the booking form works and so that form submissions cannot be forged by another site. The site cannot function without these and they are not used for advertising.
Advertising measurement
We run ads on Google, and the Google tag on this site tells us when a visit that began with one of our ads ended in a booking. It records the booking reference and the amount so we can see which ads actually bring guests — it does not send Google your name, your phone number or your email address.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can control Google's advertising cookies at myadcenter.google.com. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop you from booking.
Who else sees your information
We share only what each of these services needs in order to do its job, and we do not give any of them permission to use your information for their own marketing.
- Razorpay — processes online payments. Your payment details go directly to them.
- Google — we use Google Ads measurement, Google Fonts and an embedded Google Map. These receive your IP address and basic browser information when a page loads.
- Hostinger — hosts this website and our email. Our server is located in Mumbai, India.
- WhatsApp — only if you choose to tap the WhatsApp button, which opens a chat with us. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
- Government authorities — where we are legally required to provide information, such as guest records or tax records.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as we need them to serve you, and after that for as long as Indian tax, accounting and hotel record-keeping law requires us to hold them. Enquiries that never became a booking are kept only while they are still useful for answering you. When a record is no longer needed for any of these reasons, we delete it.
How we protect it
- The whole site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Payment credentials never touch our server — Razorpay handles them.
- Access to booking records is limited to hotel staff who need it, through a password-protected admin area.
- Sensitive configuration values are stored encrypted.
No website can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever affects your personal information we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and who we have shared it with
- Correct anything that is wrong, incomplete or out of date
- Delete information we no longer have a legal reason to keep
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave us
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to
To make any of these requests, or to complain about how we have handled your information, contact us at bookjagdishresidency@gmail.com or +91 99060 39433. We will respond as quickly as we can. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is meant for adults making a booking. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Children's names and ages may appear in a booking made by a parent or guardian, which is the only way we expect to receive them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
